Dimitrij Ovtcharov , The World Table Tennis Champion
Dimitrij Ovtcharov (born September 2, 1988 in Kiev) is a Ukrainian-born table tennis players of Germany. On December 2011, he was ranked # 10 in the world with Table International Tennis Federation (ITTF).
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Ovtcharov won a silver medal as part of the German men's team, along with Timo Boll and Christian Süß. He uses a special technique in his service, which is then chosen by TIME as one of the top 50 innovations of 2008.
On September 22, 2010 Ovtcharov has been suspended by the German Table Tennis Federation (DTTB) for A-sample tests positive for Clenbuterol can be used as improve the performance of substance. Ovtcharov denied doping charges and asked for the analysis of B-sample was positive. [8] [9] After the examination and further investigation, the hair samples voluntarily offered by Ovtcharov clenbuterol and showed no evidence of abuse. DTTB then unanimously decided to abolish the suspension on October 15, 2010. The decision was supported by the ITTF.
