Salomon Kalou Armand Magloire (born in Oumé, Ivory Coast, August 5, 1985, age 26 years) is a professional football player from the Ivory Coast who plays for Chelsea in the Premier League and national team of Ivory Coast. Kalou can play both as striker mauupun winger.
Before playing for Chelsea, Kalou played at Mimosas, Feyenoord and Excelsior. He was awarded the Dutch Football Talent of the Year (Young Player of the Dutch League) 2004-05 season playing for Feyenoord. Chelsea, Kalou won a domestic title, as the English Premier League title, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield.
Kalou is a Chelsea player who has the highest (100 times per December 2011) appeared as a substitute in all competitions.

2006-07 Season

Kalou joined Chelsea on May 30, 2006 with a reported transfer fee of about £ 9 juta.Ia signed a three-year contract and wear jersey number 21 back.


On December 23, 2006, Kalou scored for Chelsea's first league away win 3-2 at Wigan Athletic. He made two league goals as a 3-0 victory over Blackburn. Kalou scored his first goal this season as Chelsea's 6-0 victory over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. He also made the opening goal in the victory over Derby County 2-0 away and 2-1 at Fulham.
Kalou often make an important contribution to Chelsea. He scored a 2-1 win over Newcastle United at three minutes before the game ended. [He also made a "bait" for the own goal by John Arne Riise in the final seconds of extra time when Liverpool meet Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League semi-final make the final score 1-1. He scored a total of 11 goals and 9 assists to the end of the season.
Kalou also appears in the 2008 UEFA Champions League final when Chelsea face Manchester United. He became the sixth kicker in round penalty shoot-out which was won by Manchester United.



2008-09 Season


Under new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, Kalou did not appear much for participating in the Ivory Coast U23 team in
Beijing Olympics 2008.


Kalou scored the equalizer after coming on as substitute when Chelsea meet Manchester United on 21 September 2008. The match ended with the score 1-1. He then scored two goals and an assist for Frank Lampard when 5-0 away win over Middlesbrough on October 18. He returned to make two goals against Middlesbrough, this time at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea won 2-0 on January 28, 2009. Kalou also scored the only goal in Chelsea's 1-0 away win over West Ham.


2009-10 Season

Kalou and Chelsea started the season by winning the 2009 Community Shield after beating Manchester United. The match ends 2-2 and he scored a success in the penalty shoot-out round. He scored his first goal this season when a 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers in the third round League Cup.
On October 12, 2009, Kalou signed a new contract duration of three years with Chelsea, which will tie into the summer of 2012. Kalou celebrates his new contract by scoring two goals in a 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Champions League. Kalou started the season on August 20, 2011.
