Thein Sein Biography
Thein Sein is the President of Myanmar since February 4, 2011, previously served as Prime Minister from 2007 to 2011.

Thein Sein was appointed in April 2007 as interim prime minister, replacing Soe Win, who is undergoing medical treatment. Thein Sein became Soe Win a permanent replacement on October 24, 2007 after the death of Soe Win on October 12, 2007.
Thein Sein holds the junta's first secretary in the government of the State Peace and Development Council. He is the fourth highest ranked generals in the country, and also served as head of the Government Commission on the government-sponsored National Convention. Thein Sein high-level negotiations with Bangladesh and Cambodia.
After his official appointment as prime minister, he was promoted to full general from lieutenant jenderal.Pada first state visit outside Myanmar as prime minister, Thein Sein high-level negotiations with Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
General elections 2010
As Chairman of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, one of the participants party elections in 2010 in Myanmar, he and his party emerged as the winner. On February 4, 2011, Sein elected by parliament as president and became the first civilian president after the military government for nearly 50 years. Tin Aung Myint Oo and Sai Mauk Kham was chosen as vice president
