Kerry Packer



Kerry Francis Bullmore Packer (17 December 1937-26 December 2005) was an Australian conglomerate that has businesses in media, publishing.


Packer is known as a child are not good in school but showed a good ability in the sport. He later grew into one of the most influential figures in Australia. He is known for his often outspoken in giving his opinion to the public, a vast empire, and the conflict between it with Taxation Agency Australia (Australian Taxation Office). Packer is a major shareholder in Publishing and Broadcasting Limited (PBL), which owns the Nine television network and magazine publisher Australian Consolidated Press. He was also involved in the gambling business, especially in its status as the owner of the Crown casino in Melbourne.


When death, Packer was the richest man in Australia. In 2004, Business Review Weekly magazine estimated that his fortune amounted to AUD $ 6,500 million. By Forbes magazine, he was ranked as the 99th richest person in the world in 2005.
