Jack Abramoff 


Jack A. Abramoff (born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA, February 28, 1958, age 54 years) was a Republican U.S. attorney and lobbyist on January 3, 2006, pleaded guilty to three criminal charges in federal court and on January 4, 2006, pleaded guilty in two other criminal charges in federal court to another as well.
Abramoff is the central figure in a series of high-level political scandals involving many members of Congress, especially Republicans, but also a number of Democratic politicians. He was in the investigation:


By a federal grand jury for his involvement in a gambling scandal Abramoff-Reed Indian,
Other by a grand jury in Guam over a separate issue.
He also was charged on August 11, 2005, by a third grand jury in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, bank fraud arising from an unrelated business, the purchase of SunCruz Casinos
Scandals regarding Jack Abramoff lobbying and corruption, on January 3, 2006, Abramoff pleaded guilty to three criminal charges: conspiracy, fraud and tax evasion. In addition, Abramoff and other defendants should compensate at least 25 million U.S. dollars obtained through the fraud of its clients, particularly American Indian tribes. Further, Abramoff owes the Internal Revenue Service Revenue of 1.7 million dollars as a result of the admission of guilt on charges of tax evasion.


This agreement alleges that Abramoff had bribed public officials, including those identified as "Representative No.. 1" which is believed by many as Bob Ney, a Republican congressman from Ohio. These charges also include: hiring a number of congressional staffers and conspiring with them to lobby their former employers - including members of Congress. It is a violation of the federal ban on lobbying for a year after a person stops working for a member of Congress. Ney had made a legal defense fund for him to defend himself against possible charges related to Abramoff.


Abramoff guilty plea is part of the bargain in the U.S. legal system which in turn requires them to work together in an ongoing investigation for his role in corruption in Congress.
Regarding the case of SunCruz Casino on January 4, 2006, Abramoff pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud and money transfer by deception through the mail, and on a separate allegations of fraud by wire transfer of money other.


Abramoff is also associated with a scandal involving a multi-billion contract with the Department of Homeland Security who hit a lot of problems. Furthermore, he did a lot of payments to Doug Bandow, former Senior Specialist in the Cato Institute, and at least one other think tank expert, Peter Ferrara, to write opinion articles yangpositif for his clients.


Investigation and the charges against Abramoff gain widespread national attention because of political connections with a number of lobbyists is a leading national politicians. Abramoff was Senior Director of Government Affairs for the firm Greenberg Traurig law and lobbying. He became the National Chairman of the Republican National Committee on Higher Education from 1981-1985. He also served as director of the National Center for Research on Public Policy, a conservative think tank that the critics called a front for funneling money that can be legally provided by a non-profit organization, not by an employer or lobbyist.


Childhood

Abramoff was born into a Jewish American family in Atlantic City, New Jersey. His father was a businessman there. In 1968 the family moved to Beverly Hills, California and later studied at high school Abramoff Beverly Hills. He was raised in a secular Jewish family, but at age 12 he changed his life: "I have decided that I would be to preserve a religious faith in our family," he said. He immediately bought books on Judaism with his own savings.


The school term

In college, Abramoff organized Massachusetts campuses for Reagan's presidential campaign in 1980. He graduated from Brandeis University in 1981 and earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986.
After a campaign run by Grover Norquist and aided by Ralph E. Reed, Jr.., Abramoff was elected chairman of the College Republican National Committee. "Our job is not seeking peaceful coexistence with the Left," Abramoff said to have said so in the group's 1983 annual report, our task is to remove them from power for ever. In the 1980's in the committee, Abramoff developed political alliance with the Republican chairman of the branches of universities across America.
