Mario Gómez García (born July 10, 1985, age 26 years) is a German football player who has Spanish ancestry. He has defended the club Bayern Munich. Plays as a striker. Spanish nationality his father while his mother a German.

Personal life

Gómez raised in Unlingen, an Upper Swabian village in the state of Baden-Württemberg in southwest Germany about 95 km south of Stuttgart and 175 km west of Munich. He was born in the town near Riedlingen. Gómez is a German-Spanish descent (his father is a Spaniard from Granada and his mother is German). He has both German and Spanish citizenship and decided to play for the German national team. Club career


VfB Stuttgart
In 2004, Gómez played 10 minutes for VfB Stuttgart in the Champions League match against Chelsea on March 9, and made his debut in the Bundesliga (national league) on May 8th.
In the 2004-05 season, playing for VfB Stuttgart in the Regionalliga Süd (Regional game, then part of the third level of German football after the national team and the Bundesliga), he scored 15 times in 24 games and be limited to eight times in the first team.

2009-10 season

On May 26, 2009, Gómez eventually moved to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga record transfer fee, signing a four-year contract. Gómez start the 2011-12 season in a similar fashion to the previous season's league and he opened an account on the date of August 20, 2011 in thrashing Bayern from Hamburger SV. Seven days later, Gómez scored a hat-trick to go to 1. FC Kaiserslautern. On 10 September, Gómez then netted four goals in a 7-0 victory Bayern Munich from Freiburg. Gómez also scored two goals against Hertha Berlin's 4-0 win at Bayern. Gómez then got another brace on October 29 when Bayern then beat one. FC Nuremberg 4-0. Then on December 11, 2011, he scored his third goal this season and sealed a 2-1 win over Bayern Stuttgart On 2 November 2011, he netted a hat-trick in the Champions League group stage match against Serie A side SSC Napoli. Bayern went on to win 3-2. In the DFB Pokal-Gómez scored only two goals. On December 16, 2011, Gómez scored his 50th for calendar year 2011 against the first. FC Köln.

International career


Euro 2008

Gómez has both German and Spanish citizenship, but played for all German youth national teams from the age of 17. He made his debut for the German national team against Switzerland on February 7, 2007. Germany won the match 3-1, with Gómez scoring Germany's second goal.
