David Luiz Moreira Marinho (born in Diadema, São Paulo, Brazil, 22 April 1987; age 25 years) is a professional football player plays the Brazilian central defender who plays for Chelsea in the Premier League and the Brazilian national team.
David Luiz has played for Benfica and Vitória before joining Chelsea in January 2011. Together with his Benfica won the Portuguese league title and Super Taça da Liga. David Luiz strengthen the Brazilian national team since 2010 and has recorded nine appearances until November 2011.

Club career


Vitória

David Luiz joined the academy Esporte Clube Vitória at the age of 14 years after 2 years with São Paulo FC academy. In Vitória, he played as a defensive midfielder role, but he could not run properly. In fact he almost left the club. His position was later changed to defender that he can play with baik.David Luiz made first team debut for the face of Santa Cruz Vitória FC in the Copa do Brasil in 2006. The match ended a draw with the score 2-2.


David Luiz appeared 8 times out of 9 games last Vitória in the Brazilian Série C of the 2006 season and bring Vitória came in second place season-ending standings. Vitória then promoted to the Série B Brazilian. He scored the only goal for a 2-0 victory over Vitória at CA Porto on September 3, 2006.


Benfica

On January 31, 2007, David Luiz joined SL Benfica with a six-month loan contract. He then put back number 23 shirt. On March 6, 2007, David Luiz made his debut for Benfica against Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 UEFA Cup 2006-07 season. He entered as a substitute to replace the injured Luisao. The match was won by Paris Saint-Germain 2-1, but Benfica pass to the next round with a 4-3 aggregate victory.  On March 12, 2007, he made his league debut against UD Leiria.



At the end of the 2006-07 season, David Luiz signed a contract duration of five years with Benfica.
Throughout the 2008-09 season, David Luiz more play as left back. On January 11, 2009, David Luiz scored his first league goal against Sporting de Braga.
David Luiz record 49 appearances and 3 goals in the 2009-2011 season.



He also took Benfica won the Portuguese Super Liga and Taça da Liga at the end of the season.
On 30 September 2009, Benfica sold its 25% ownership to a third party David Luiz, Benfica Stars Fund, to transfer to another club at a later date. The sale value of € 4.5 million and he labeled the price of € 18 million.

In October 2010, David Luiz signed a new contract with a clause sales worth € 50 million.


Chelsea


On January 31, 2011, David Luiz joined Chelsea from Benfica for a fee reported € 25 million plus Nemanja Matic joined Benfica at the end of 2010-11 season after the expiration of lending at Vitesse. Luiz was signed to a contract duration of five and a half years. He then made his debut Premier League when entered as a substitute to replace José Bosingwa's 0-1 home defeat at Liverpool on February 6, 2011.  On February 14, David Luiz appear from the early minutes as Chelsea draw (0-0) Fulham at Craven Cottage. He then was awarded the Barclays Man of the Match after match.


David Luiz scored his first league at 2-1 home victory over Manchester United on March 1, 2011. [19] On March 20, he scored two league goals at 2-0 home win over Manchester City. He was awarded the Man of the Match for the match. On 1 April 2011, David Luiz received the Barclay's Player of the Month (Player of the Month) in March 2011.


2011-12 Season


David Luiz premiering this season when Chelsea face Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League group stage, on 13 September 2011. At those games, he managed to score a goal and led Chelsea to win 2-0. David Luiz then appear in the face Fulham in the League Cup third round. He scored in the round of penalty kicks and led Chelsea to qualify for the next round with a score of 4-3 (0-0120 minutes earlier).


After a knee injury and missed three games early in the league, he made his league debut this season at 5-1 away win over Bolton Wanderers, on October 2, 2011. David Luiz scored his first league goal this season as Chelsea draw with Manchester United with a final score of 3-3 on February 5 league matches following 2012.Pada, on February 26, 2012, David Luiz opened the scoring Chelsea's 3-0 home victory over Bolton Wanderers.
