Charlie Whiting (born in Sevenoaks, Kent, England, August 12, 1952, age 59 years) is a former British Formula 1 mechanic. Currently, he joined the FIA World Motorsports Council as the delegate race Formula 1 overseer.

Whiting began his career as a mechanic in 1968 while helping to prepare the car his brother, Nick Whiting is going down diajang Club Racing.
Then in 1976 he began to plunge diajang actual race with a mechanic in the British F5000 team. In 1977 he became a mechanic at Hesketh Racing F1 team. He was then invited by the Brabham team owner Bernie Ecclestone to become chief mechanic on the team in 1978. He survived the Brabham team until 1987. His achievement is now delivering a world champion Nelson Piquet 1983.
In 1986 he entered into the FIA technical delegate to the staff. And began the 1997 season he became the permanent FIA race director and head of technical department Formula 1 to the present
